About the position

As a Wireless System Test Engineer at Apple, you will be an integral part of the Wireless/PHY System DVT team, which is dedicated to ensuring that our wireless systems meet the highest design specifications and function correctly. This role involves a deep engagement with various aspects of wireless communication, including EVM, Sensitivity, Desense, RF/Baseband Performance, MIMO, Beamforming, and Coexistence. You will be responsible for testing and validating these systems, which is crucial for the development of groundbreaking wireless connectivity solutions that Apple is known for. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive test plans and executing test campaigns to validate the performance of our wireless systems. You will generate detailed reports on your findings and work closely with the wireless silicon design group to triage issues that arise during testing. This will require a strong understanding of the validation and regression test infrastructure, as well as the ability to debug and extend these systems as necessary. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of wireless technologies at Apple, pushing the limits of what is possible in the field of wireless communication. Responsibilities

  • Test and validate Wireless/PHY Systems to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for wireless communication systems.
  • Execute test campaigns and generate detailed reports on findings.
  • Triage issues within the wireless silicon design group related to radio and PHY.
  • Debug and extend the validation/regression test infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in wireless communication systems, specifically WiFi and/or Cellular Technologies.
  • Understanding of key performance indicators and impairments of RF and Baseband signals.
  • Experience testing wireless silicon in a lab environment.
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment such as signal analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Shell scripting, C, C++, or C#.
  • Minimum qualification of a BS degree with 10 years of relevant experience; MS or PhD preferred.
