About the position

The Wireless System Engineer at Apple is a technical role focused on the design, integration, and characterization of advanced wireless SoC products. This position involves working on physical layer system design and implementing state-of-the-art wireless communication algorithms, contributing to the development of products that enhance the lives of millions of customers.

Responsibilities

• Implement system models for wireless communication systems and RF/circuit impairments.
• Design, simulate, and implement physical layer wireless communication algorithms.
• Develop algorithms for calibration, pre-equalization, cancellation, and pre-distortion techniques.
• Implement fixed-point models and conduct detailed performance investigations for performance sign-off.
• Collaborate with digital designers on PHY algorithms for power and area efficiency.
• Work with firmware designers on high-efficiency software implementations and hardware acceleration.
• Validate and characterize algorithms on real silicon with RFIC and digital circuit designers.

Requirements

• BS degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
• Experience with OFDM and physical layer wireless communication systems.
• Proven experience in bringing up and taking to production state-of-the-art wireless communication algorithms for high data rate applications.

Nice-to-haves

• MSEE or PhD degrees preferred.
• Experience designing firmware-based algorithms involving MAC-PHY interactions.
• Proficiency in implementing codes in Python and firmware.
• Experience in designing test plans and collaborating with automation/test engineers.
