About the position

The Wirer position at Hitachi Global Air Power is an entry-level role focused on assembling and wiring products according to specified drawings and instructions. This position is critical in ensuring the production of defect-free products while meeting customer expectations. The Wirer will work closely with a production team and is responsible for troubleshooting electrical failures and adhering to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Wire product models to P&I, assembly drawings, WD drawings, and Work Instructions.
• Complete P&I, WD, and Blue training.
• Install heat trace per P&I, WD, and Work Instructions.
• Complete basic computer training.
• Utilize SAP, QMS, and Operator Portal for daily activities.
• Pass utility wiring qualifying exam.
• Pass lockout-tagout training and be comfortable working on high-voltage (575V) machines.
• Progression to wire all standard products model, at least (4) station built model families, and in-house starter boxes.
• Systematically troubleshoot electrical failures and assist in determining solutions.
• Notify Supervisor, Quality, and/or Engineering of BOM or part quality issues.
• Follow non-conformance part procedure.
• Flex between production lines and starter box wiring based upon production demands.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Basic reading skills necessary to perform the functions of the job.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Basic understanding of electricity and motor control systems.
• Capable of reading and understanding bills of material (BOM), piping and instrumentation (P&I) drawings, wiring diagrams (WD), and Work Instructions (WCI).
• Involvement in 6S activities, value stream mapping, TPM, and collection of QCPC data.
