About the position

The Western School Corporation is seeking a dedicated and passionate Art Teacher for the Western Intermediate School located in Russiaville, IN. This full-time position requires a certified elementary art teacher who is committed to fostering a creative and engaging learning environment for students. The Art Teacher will be responsible for planning and organizing instruction that aligns with both general and course proficiencies, ensuring that students develop their artistic skills and appreciation for visual arts. In this role, the teacher will utilize a variety of effective instructional strategies to promote desired student proficiencies in art education. Regular assessment of student progress is essential, and the teacher will maintain accurate records while communicating ongoing progress to students, parents, and the community. The Art Teacher will also be responsible for organizing and managing the classroom environment to maximize learning opportunities, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills. Participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) is expected, and the teacher will utilize data to inform and drive instruction. A strong interest and experience in visual art education are crucial for this position, along with effective time management skills. The successful candidate will hold a current Indiana Teacher's License and will be expected to meet the professional responsibilities associated with this certification. The position is set to start as soon as possible and will continue through May 25, 2025, in accordance with the contract length.
