About the position

The Western Intermediate School is seeking a Temporary Art Teacher for grades 3-5 for the period of January 2025 to May 2025. This role involves planning and organizing instruction, providing effective teaching strategies, assessing student progress, and managing the classroom environment to enhance learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize instruction to achieve course proficiencies.
• Provide effective instruction using various strategies to achieve desired student proficiencies.
• Assess student progress and maintain records of ongoing student performance.
• Organize and manage the classroom environment to maximize learning.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills with students, parents, and the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Teaching Certification license preferred.
• Experience in communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Licensed Art Teacher is preferred.
• Consideration may be given to a licensed teacher in other content areas.
• Consideration may also be given to someone enrolled in a Transition to Teaching program at a state-approved higher education institution.
