About the position

As a WMS Instructional Designer at Americold Logistics, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the training and support functions related to our Warehouse Management System (WMS). Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers by developing and delivering effective training programs. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts to prepare training materials for WMS conversions, implementations, and ongoing training needs. This position requires a deep understanding of training requirements, and you will be tasked with proposing appropriate learning strategies that effectively address the needs of the target audience while utilizing suitable training delivery modalities. In this role, you will analyze, design, develop, and update on-demand courses and associated curricula for various warehouse management systems using tools such as SAP Enable Now and Articulate 360. You will coordinate, publish, and maintain training courses for the Learning Management System (LMS - Cornerstone) and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Your expertise in instructional design will be essential in creating engaging and innovative instructional materials that meet the diverse needs of our audience. You will apply project management, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure that all training projects are completed on time and meet aggressive deadlines. You will manage the entire training lifecycle, from initial analysis through to delivery and evaluation, utilizing methodologies such as ADDIE and the Kirkpatrick Model of Evaluation. Additionally, you will edit instructional materials for clarity and accuracy, compile and analyze evaluation data to assess training effectiveness, and develop cohesive, real-world scenario-based curriculum materials. Your focus will be on adult learning methodologies, ensuring that the training is relevant and impactful for adult learners. This position also requires a commitment to travel, as you may need to visit facilities and conduct training sessions in various locations. You will be expected to maintain a positive attitude and model extraordinary behavior while working both independently and as part of a team. Your ability to engage with adult learners and facilitate effective training sessions will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers by delivering WMS-related training and support functions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to prepare training for WMS conversions, implementations, and ongoing training needs.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and update on-demand courses and curricula for various warehouse management systems using eLearning authoring software.
  • Coordinate, publish, and maintain training courses for the Learning Management System (LMS - Cornerstone) and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop effective, engaging, and innovative instructional materials that meet audience needs using instructional design expertise.
  • Manage the training lifecycle from initial analysis through delivery and evaluation using ADDIE and Agile methodologies.
  • Edit instructional materials for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy in various formats.
  • Compile and analyze evaluation data to determine training effectiveness and ROI.
  • Develop real-world scenario-based curriculum handouts, guides, workbooks, and PowerPoints.
  • Document WMS processes and procedures, focusing on adult learning methodologies.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of work-related experience as an Instructional Designer/eLearning Specialist/Technical Trainer.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing creative and engaging learning materials.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word with attention to detail.
  • Ability to commit up to 40% travel when needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Technology, or a related field from an accredited college.
  • Understanding of all operational warehouse roles, processes, and functions.
  • Experience using SAP Enable Now and Articulate 360 in course design and development.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and instructing adult learners.
