About the position

The WOC Research Health Scientist position at the Department of Veterans Affairs focuses on promoting Veteran-centered care through research initiatives. This role involves recruiting and supporting Veterans in a pilot program aimed at improving patient experiences and outcomes in VA healthcare settings. The position is temporary and does not offer compensation, but it provides valuable experience in health research and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and enroll Veterans who meet inclusion criteria into the pilot program.
  • Support Veteran participants with the setup and operation of the pilot program.
  • Distribute, collect, and analyze Veteran participant Qualtrics survey data.
  • Code, analyze, and interpret VINCI medical records data.
  • Conduct and analyze interview data with Veteran participants to better understand their experience with the program.
  • Draft written deliverables to the VA, academic, and policy audiences.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree from an accredited college or university in a medical, health sciences, or allied science field.
  • Experience in planning and carrying out research projects and related analyses.
  • Experience in distributing, collecting, and analyzing participant Qualtrics survey data.
