About the position

The Women Peace and Security Policy Analyst will support the Joint Staff by responding to information requests, preparing coordination packages, and conducting research on specific issues related to Women, Peace, and Security. This role requires a strong understanding of DoD policy and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders within the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain program tracking tools using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understand DoD programmatic responsibilities for reporting and accountability.
• Respond to requests for program information from executive leadership.
• Quickly research, analyze, and package results for short-fused requirements.
• Analyze trends and emerging issues for program planning and implementation.
• Maintain a comprehensive accounting of measures of effectiveness across the Women Peace and Security portfolio.
• Prepare quality presentations for executive meetings, including graphics support.
• Coordinate with diverse stakeholders in DoD and interagency.
• Conduct research on strategic defense issues.
• Support administrative functions such as reporting and task tracking.

Requirements

• US Citizen
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance
• Master's Degree in International Relations, National Security, Political Science, Business, or similar fields
• 3+ years working in DoD or DoS programs
• General literacy with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Proven ability to conduct open-source research and prepare executive-level correspondence
• Strong organizational and customer service skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to follow security protocols

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of experience related to Women, Peace and Security
• 4+ years of experience with program and project management practices
• Experience supporting DoD or DoS programs and strategic initiatives
