In this role, you will collaborate closely with the team to develop and edit womenswear stories that not only highlight current trends but also address lifestyle challenges in a smart and journalistic manner. Your responsibilities will include identifying and coordinating the photography of relevant clothing and accessories, ensuring that the visual elements complement the written content effectively. As a women's fashion editor, you will maintain a constant awareness of current fashion trends and the various challenges readers face when it comes to dressing. You will edit stories to align with Off Duty's service-oriented agenda, ensuring that they meet the expectations for witty, stylish, and sophisticated writing while adhering to the journalistic and ethical standards of The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, you will cover the womenswear market, attending industry appointments as necessary to stay informed about the latest developments in the field. Your role will also involve building a strong network of freelance writers and guiding their stories through the proofing and fact-checking process. You will act as a liaison between editors, art, photo, and digital departments, fully participating in the planning of digital presentations, optimizing stories for SEO, and tracking their digital performance. Furthermore, you will be responsible for all story planning and schedule organization matters, ensuring that the editorial calendar is well-managed and that deadlines are met.
