About the position

The WooCommerce / WordPress Developer and Troubleshooter position at Built Mighty / Little Rhino is a remote role focused on designing, developing, and maintaining software applications for e-commerce clients. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a team to enhance WordPress and WooCommerce platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of small businesses. This role emphasizes flexibility, allowing for a work-life balance while delivering high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other members of the development team to plan and implement features and functionality
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Test and debug software to ensure it is free of errors and performs as expected
• Deliver accurate estimates for work
• Debug issues in high-risk situations
• Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in software development
• Assist with the maintenance and support of existing software products
• Maintain communication with developers, project managers, and clients
• Meet with clients during the discovery phase of project cycle
• Ensure proper documentation through GitHub and Jira
• Escalate issues to Development Lead, Project Manager, or clients.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a developer
• 2+ years of experience creating, maintaining and improving WordPress and/or WooCommerce Plugins and Themes
• Must have backend development experience
• Must have experience with WooCommerce
• Experience with Laravel a plus
• Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML/CSS, MySQL, JavaScript, webpack, and Git
• Experience working with Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of web development technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience with software testing, debugging and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Must be US based. Currently not accepting candidates from New York.
• Must be able to develop fully remote in the Cloud.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Codespaces and Docker.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence a plus.
