About the position

The Wood Department Manager at Floor & Decor is responsible for achieving sales budgets and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for customers. This role involves overseeing store operations, managing staff, and implementing company guidelines related to sales, customer service, and training. The manager will engage with customers, maintain store presentation standards, and ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer service by teaching and adhering to retail principles.
• Engage customers to provide a quality shopping experience and ensure associates deliver excellent service.
• Strategically merchandise products according to company guidelines.
• Maintain store presentation standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Assist the Chief Executive Merchant in enhancing customer service focus.
• Conduct weekly competitive shops and communicate pricing or inventory issues to senior management.
• Analyze business reports to optimize merchandising and pricing strategies.
• Utilize computer systems for inventory management and profit-loss oversight.
• Train, develop, and supervise store associates, monitoring their performance and career development.
• Handle store-level human resources or loss prevention issues as necessary.

Requirements

• Three to five years of retail management experience.
• Proven ability to direct operations in a high-volume environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in recruiting, hiring, and training associates.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work under pressure.
