About the position

The Senior WordPress Developer at BrandStar Digital is responsible for designing and implementing attractive and functional websites that meet client specifications. This role involves both front-end and back-end development, including the implementation of themes and plugins, site integration, and security updates. The developer will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure that websites are mobile responsive, SEO-friendly, and adhere to industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in client meetings to gather website design and functionality specifications.
• Design and build the website front-end, including landing pages and content.
• Architect and manage the website back-end, including database and server integration.
• Manage and update website content, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Customize and generate themes to align with branding and design guidelines.
• Evaluate, select, and integrate plugins to enhance website functionality and user experience.
• Conduct website performance tests and implement optimization techniques.
• Troubleshoot content issues and implement security best practices.
• Implement tracking codes for digital advertising and marketing efforts.
• Ensure websites are SEO-friendly and optimize for search engine rankings.
• Test and optimize websites for compatibility across various browsers and devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a WordPress Developer required.
• Previous experience of 2+ years in a digital agency or web development firm preferred.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial, and SVN.
• Experience with debugging tools like Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
• Advanced knowledge of website design using WordPress, HubSpot, and Yoast SEO.
• Proficiency in digital advertising tools such as Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
• Advanced graphic design skills in Adobe Photoshop or similar software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with WooCommerce, Elementor Pro, WPengine, and WPML.
• Solid understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
