About the position

We are seeking an experienced WordPress Developer to join our team on a contract basis. The role focuses on building a custom block-based theme for a new website and developing custom WordPress plugins that integrate with third-party APIs. The position allows for remote work, with a preference for hybrid arrangements requiring on-site presence in Minneapolis 1-2 times per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom WordPress plugins that integrate with various third-party APIs.
• Ensure seamless integration of plugins with existing WordPress installations, including WooCommerce.
• Design and develop custom block-based WordPress themes with a focus on WordPress's latest patterning features and full-site editing.
• Collaborate with our team to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve plugin-related and theme-related issues.
• Maintain accessibility and responsive design standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in both developing WordPress plugins and front-end WordPress development.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, WordPress APIs, RESTful APIs.
• Experience and expertise in building block-based themes using the new patterning features in WordPress.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress theme development best practices.
• Experience with WooCommerce (preferred).
• Familiarity with accessibility and responsive design principles.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
