About the position

As a WordPress Developer in the IT Division, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and securing six WordPress applications. This position requires a full stack development approach, supporting the mission of VSP in highway safety, emergency messaging, and recruitment. The role is primarily onsite, with a hybrid work arrangement that necessitates regular in-person presence.

Responsibilities

• Working across the full stack in WordPress to build new features and services
• Developing solutions in WordPress that support positive, accessible user experiences in both desktop and mobile environments
• Debugging and security remediations for public facing applications
• Working with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices, and pursuing continued learning opportunities

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in WordPress application development (5 years)
• Proficiency in PHP coding and debugging (5 years)
• Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (5 years)
• Understanding of SQL (5 years)
• Understanding of REST API (5 years)
• Ability to work as a team member on web development projects end-to-end (5 years)
• Proven knowledge of back-end infrastructure maintenance and optimization and UX/UI principles (5 years)
• Proven knowledge of secure coding practices (5 years)
• Outstanding communication skills (5 years)
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field
