About the position

The Work Center Team Lead for the 3rd Shift is responsible for overseeing operations during the night shift, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are met. This role involves leading a team, managing resources effectively, and fostering a safe work environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety policies within the work area and throughout the company.
  • Properly and safely operate required tools, both power and non-power.
  • Understand and apply measurements based on instructions, including reading a tape measurer.
  • Ensure quality policies are understood and maintain minimum or zero defects per unit.
  • Read and interpret work orders effectively.
  • Actively participate and support PPS, 5S, and TPM initiatives.
  • Work required schedule including overtime as needed.
  • Assist with on-the-job training of team members.
  • Work with little or no supervision.
  • Meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50lbs, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, reaching, and squatting.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
  • Control and reduce truck hours and effectively utilize resources.
  • Plan and execute daily work efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments of the plant.
  • Achieve daily and monthly truck delivery goals.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure appropriate availability and work in process levels.
  • Seek and develop new or improved processes for productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor established work procedures and implement changes as required.
  • Take an active role in daily truck audits and follow up on issues and corrective actions.
  • Monitor quality of trucks in process and communicate necessary actions.
  • Implement and maintain quality improvement efforts and processes.
  • Lead by example to create and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and measurements.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety policies and quality control processes.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform manual tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PPS, 5S, and TPM methodologies.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry.
