About the position

Noblis MSD's mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) objectives to design, build, deliver and maintain ships, submarines, and systems reliably, on-time and on-cost for the Navy. We are looking to hire a Navy Training Specialist. The Workforce Development (WFD) Navy Training Specialist shall provide professional support services for the Deputy Commander for Surface Warfare, SEA 21, Naval Sea Systems Command. Under this effort, the Navy requires Fleet Readiness support for Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center (CNRMC), its subordinate Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), and Surface Team One (ST1). The Navy Training Specialist Curriculum Developer is responsible for development of Training Materials by using Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) curriculum standards and containing material derived from authoritative directives and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with CNRMC's Workforce Development quality assurance and peer reviews on design plans and instructional materials.
  • Maintain tracking of the RMC Enterprise Workforce Development training team's work schedules to ensure work is completed within project and contract parameters.
  • Maintain, design and develop high quality print marketing material for naval courses.
  • Design and develop master course documentation or manuals according to applicable accreditation, certification, or other DoD and DoN requirements in support of training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a related field. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 5 years' relative experience with Navy Curriculum Development.
  • Minimum 5 years' relative experience with Adobe Media Suite.
  • Minimum 5 years' relative experience gained because of in-depth experience and specialized knowledge in Naval Education and Training Command Policies and Standards, to include: Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), NAVSEA Contracting Policies and Strategies, NAVSEA Standard Items (NSI).
  • Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance for access to government facilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Navy Surface Ship Repair and Modernization.
  • Must have knowledge in developing Training Materials using NETC curriculum standards to include: Lesson Plans, Trainee Guides, Job Sheets and Practical Instructor Guides, Job Task Analyst.
  • Virtual Media (Adobe Captivate) This creates an interactive media used for ILT, Virtual-ILT, and Computer-Based Training (CBT).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner.
  • Layout, Graphics, Design, and Development: PageMaker, Adobe Indesign, QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere.
