About the position

The Work Planner position at Pike Corporation is designed for both entry-level and experienced professionals with a background in forestry, horticulture, or related fields. The role involves inspecting and evaluating trees and brush along utility lines, coordinating tree clearance activities, and serving as a liaison between clients and tree crews. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines.
• Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews.
• Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues.
• Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or closely related field, or relevant experience in Utility Vegetation Management.
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus.
• Vegetation management experience preferred.
• Experience working with GIS-integrated data collection software/hardware preferred.
