About the position
This position is offered through the Federal Work Study Program. In order to be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements of the program. The role involves assisting with the care of animals, plant science labs, and course lab set-ups. The position requires professionalism and confidentiality in all matters, as well as effective communication skills, both verbal and written. The student will be responsible for various tasks including general office duties, assisting Agriculture faculty, and caring for livestock.
Responsibilities
- Run errands
- Perform general office duties including emailing, filing, and assisting Agriculture faculty
- Assist staff with general questions
- Be responsible for Agricultural equipment set-up and maintenance
- Care for chickens and other livestock
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by Agriculture faculty
Requirements
- Must be enrolled half-time (or greater) at the College (half-time is 6cr for fall/spring and 3cr for summer)
- Must be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must have eligibility (financial need) as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to communicate by telephone on a daily basis
- Must be able to use computers and operate basic office equipment
- Must be able to provide and understand verbal/visual orders from supervisors
