About the position
The Business & Community Education Work Study position involves assisting the Business & Community Education staff with general office processes while maintaining confidentiality of all student records. The role requires professionalism and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to operate basic office equipment and computers. The position is part of the Federal Work-Study program, which provides part-time jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses.
Responsibilities
- Covering office during lunch hours
- General office duties including answering the telephone and taking accurate concise messages
- Giving directions and taking people to other offices
- Cold call for information
- Knowing the schedule of the classes and getting information to the classrooms
- Assisting with putting the schedule together
- Assisting with putting Instructor packets together
- Contacting students and instructors about cancellations
- Picking up mail
- Delivering mail, paperwork, etc. to various departments
- Assisting with various events
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by Business & Community Education Office staff
Requirements
- Must be enrolled half-time (or greater) at the College
- Must be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must have eligibility (financial need) as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
