About the position
The Work Study Student will support the Museum as a Visitor Service Associate on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2025. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Employment is contingent upon funding. Responsibilities
- Greeting, supervising, and assisting all visitors in the exhibit areas and gift shop
- Leading tours and presenting programs for scheduled groups
- Conducting sales and managing inventory in the gift shop
- Setting up and taking down exhibits
- Answering the telephone, filing, copying, entering data, running errands, and performing housekeeping tasks
- Assisting with various marketing mailings and accounting tasks
- Assisting in collections and other tasks as assigned by supervisor/department
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University
- Must be Federal Work eligible
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience working with children and operating a cash register
- Strong background in customer service
Benefits
- $12.00 per hour
- This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis
