About the position
The Workday Payroll Functional Analyst I at Hy-Vee plays a crucial role in the design, maintenance, and support of payroll-related functional areas within Workday. This position collaborates with various teams, including payroll, human resources, and IT, to enhance business processes and implement new features. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert, providing support and education to end-users while managing case inquiries in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the payroll partner supporting designated HCM areas in Workday, such as Core Payroll, HR, Talent, Advanced Compensation, etc.
- Provide consultation to Business Partners, building domain knowledge, gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysis.
- Serve as subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities.
- Evaluate releases and functionality to identify opportunities to improve and optimize the use of Workday.
- Configure, test, validate and implement Business Process changes in Workday.
- Ensure up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilities.
- Assist in testing of integrations, security, annual events.
- Evaluate feasibility of system modifications and enhancements.
- Provide input and knowledge sharing with Workday Team Members.
- Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen.
- Assist in processing weekly payroll.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Payroll/HCM operations and experience in employee data management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional colleagues and IT.
- Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and with highly confidential data.
- Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the business needs.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
Nice-to-haves
- Workday HCM experience or training preferred.
- Payroll functional and system experience preferred.
