About the position
The Worker - General Maintenance position involves performing various maintenance tasks for the Board of Public Education, ensuring the operational effectiveness of facilities. The role requires a hands-on approach to maintain, repair, and document building components, while responding to maintenance needs as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, and corrects all building components as assigned, including cubicle and locker installation, metal fabrication, fence installation, tile repairs, and masonry-related repairs.
- Provides first line of response to facility maintenance needs to assure maximum operational effectiveness of the facility.
- Provides all required and appropriate documentation related to maintenance tasks.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Two to three years of experience in general building maintenance and grounds maintenance trade.
- Knowledge of standard practices, tools, and equipment of the general maintenance trade, landscaping, tree and shrubbery work, and applicable building codes.
