The Workers Compensation Analyst will ensure action plans are executed for all workers' compensation claims and support the administration of the workers' compensation program by identifying areas of risk of loss, quantifying the impact, and providing recommendations for process improvements to the Manager, Workers' Compensation. The Analyst will conduct data mining, assemble data and statistics, develop dashboards, and create reports using multiple RMIS systems and external sources to provide analytical information for the Manager, Workers' Compensation as well as Senior Management. The stewardship of this position includes workers' compensation claims management, providing statistical reports on claims, financial and trend analysis for the Workers' Compensation program, compiling, reviewing, and distributing reports on regulatory changes that could impact the Workers' Compensation program. The position will be responsible for claims management from beginning to end, report generation, and communication with store managers, vendors as well as creating OSHA and Workers' Compensation postings. This position reports to the Manager, Workers Compensation but works closely with all AutoNation Benefits Company personnel and interacts closely with AutoNation's HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures timely handling of workers' compensation claims by the Third Party Administrator.
  • Evaluates accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure an adequate investigation is completed.
  • Determines the need to report claims to the Third Party Administrator for handling.
  • Provides direction to TPA claims adjusters to facilitate resolving all claims quickly and cost effectively.
  • Analyzes moderate data sets for production of reports providing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Maintains ongoing and direct communication with store management, regional, and HR leadership regarding claims management and training.
  • Coordinates with the Workers' Compensation Third Party Administrator to run OSHA reports.
  • Distributes and tracks compliance with posting of information at each location.
  • Assists Manager and Sr. Analyst with OSHA injury reporting and tracking.
  • Creates various reports and formats in PowerPoint or Excel using Third Party Administrator databases for the Manager.
  • Creates in-network Workers' Compensation clinic/provider listings for each store and distributes to locations to ensure timely posting and compliance with state laws.
  • Runs region and store analysis using the prescribed templates for the Manager.
  • Manages the production of posters, newsletters, mailings, e-mail distributions and training presentations to various audiences.
  • Supports Benefits Intranet site and Learning & Development portal updates as directed by the Manager.
  • Coordinates and schedules training sessions, webinars, and other assigned tasks as requested by the Manager.
  • Actively participates in monthly HR calls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, HR, Business Administration or a related field or any equivalent combination of background, skills, and experience.
  • Proficient in office technology, including Excel, pivot tables, Power Point, Word and other applications.
  • Evidence of successful on-time delivery.
  • Excellent time management skills to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal communication experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of workers' compensation experience in a carrier/TPA or Risk Management environment highly desired.
  • Claims Management background a plus.
  • Previous Property/Casualty/Disability claims adjusting experience a plus.
