About the position

The Workers' Compensation Analyst at General Dynamics Electric Boat is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned workers' compensation claims. This includes investigating reported injuries or illnesses, determining the causal relationship to work, assessing the nature and extent of disability, and developing resolution plans in compliance with applicable state and federal statutes. The role also involves educating employees about their benefits and managing vendor services to optimize return on investment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of assigned workers' compensation claims.
  • Investigate reported injuries/illnesses and their causal relationship to work.
  • Assess the nature and extent of disability and develop resolution plans.
  • Educate employees with work-related injuries/illnesses on available benefits.
  • Estimate reserves required for workplace injury/illness liabilities.
  • Manage approved vendor services to maximize return on investment.
  • Travel between Quonset Point, RI and Groton, CT workers' compensation offices as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of workers' compensation claim adjusting experience.
  • Ability to obtain Rhode Island claim adjusting license as mandated by state regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical, insurance, risk management, or legal office experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or Finance.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or project management capacity.
