Workers Compensation Attorney MD and PA

About the position

Semmes, Bowen & Semmes has an immediate opening for an associate with 2+ years' experience in Worker's Compensation and Employers' Liability. Qualified candidates must be barred in MD and PA. Candidates that are admitted to other jurisdictions such as DE, DC, VA, and WV are encouraged to apply. We are looking for candidates that have insurance defense, workers' compensation and/or personal injury experience. We offer a flexible work environment with options for hybrid and remote work. Semmes is a paperless office with personal laptops provided for attorneys. This position will require you to commute to our Baltimore office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Possess strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Meet deadlines, multi-task, and handle a high volume of cases.
• Be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in MD and PA.
• 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense law.
• Strong understanding of MD and PA workers' compensation laws and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with employer liability claims.
• Licensure in other jurisdictions is a plus.
