About the position

The Workers Compensation/Benefits Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support and coordination for workers compensation claims and employee benefits. This role involves managing documentation, processing claims, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while also educating employees about their benefits and managing leave policies.

Responsibilities

  • Documents, processes, and reports on incidents and claims associated with occupational injuries or illnesses.
  • Compiles and keeps personnel records.
  • Records data for each employee and prepares reports for employment records.
  • Files employment records, searches employee files, and furnishes information to authorized persons.
  • Processes and verifies accuracy of workers compensation claims, incidents, or occurrences according to established regulatory standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Creates and maintains claims files and prepares documents for internal stakeholders.
  • Develops and produces incident and claims-related reports for management review and analysis.
  • Manages leave policies, including FMLA, Short term disability, long term disability and paid parental leave.
  • Interprets and explains the benefits package to new hires and provides ongoing education to employees about changes in the plans, coverage details, and eligibility criteria.
  • Assists with employee benefit profiles in Paycom.
  • Coordinates lunch and learns and company events that are related to benefits.
  • Assists with the open enrollment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in HR or a similar environment preferred.
  • Workers Compensation Insurance License.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal law and regulations related to workers compensation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
