About the position

The Workers Compensation Claims Adjustor is responsible for managing workers' compensation claims for assigned self-insured affiliates from the time they are reported until resolution. This role involves collaboration with technical specialists, supervisors, claim managers, and affiliate representatives, as well as partnerships with medical providers and risk management professionals to ensure effective integration of claim issues. The position is primarily remote with occasional on-site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage workers' compensation claims from reporting to resolution.
• Collaborate with technical specialists, supervisors, claim managers, and affiliate representatives.
• Partner with medical providers and risk management professionals to address claim issues.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Work and Claims Management Standards.
• Handle confidential information appropriately.
• Maintain a balance of work priorities and complete assignments within established timeframes.
• Analyze claims and formulate sound recommendations.
• Coordinate activities related to assigned caseload and payment of claims.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• 5 years of recent relevant experience in workers' compensation claims management.
• SIP Certificate exam within 36 months of hire.
• Successful completion of an IEA Certificate within 18 months of hire.
• Thorough knowledge of California Workers' Compensation law and Labor Code.
• Experience estimating workers' compensation costs and permanent disability ratings.
• Proven oral and written communication skills, including knowledge of grammar and business letter format.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to draw valid conclusions.
• Organizational and planning skills to manage caseload effectively.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
