About the position

Reporting directly to the Claims Manager, the individual will be responsible for various aspects of claims management, including the reporting and processing of claims, as well as coordination with third-party administrators (TPA) on open active claims as necessary. This role is essential in ensuring that claims are handled efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall risk management strategy of the organization. In addition to claims administration, the Claims Assistant will assist with general duties within the Risk Management department as assigned. The Claims Assistant will also be involved in organizing the compilation and production of relevant documents for litigated cases, working closely with legal, safety, and operational department members, as well as external adjusters and counsel. Identifying, evaluating, and implementing best practice risk and claim management techniques in partnership with TPA is another key responsibility. The assistant will support the Risk Management & Insurance (RM&I) Department's relationships with various internal customers and external business partners, including insurers, claims administrators, insurance brokers, outside counsel, risk management consultants, and other vendors. Furthermore, the Claims Assistant will act as a resource to Darling Ingredients locations and will assist in the completion of data requests for monthly and quarterly reports, allocations, renewals, accruals, actuarial reviews, and audits.
