About the position

The Workers' Compensation Clerk at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) plays a crucial role in the Risk Management Department of the Legal Division. This position involves various clerical duties, including typing, filing, and managing departmental records, while ensuring a safe and secure work environment. The clerk serves as a liaison between internal and external parties, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Type various letters, memos, forms, and documents using available equipment.
  • File correspondence, invoices, receipts, and other records using departmental systems.
  • Organize and prepare information for internal and external distribution.
  • Develop, maintain, coordinate, administer, and retain departmental records.
  • Serve as an information liaison between external and internal parties.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.
  • Promote a safe and secure atmosphere and follow all safety and security rules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a clerical position performing office duties such as typing, filing, and records management.
  • Ability to type 50 words per minute.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
