About the position

The Workers Compensation Case Specialist at Farah & Farah plays a crucial role in managing the office's caseload and ensuring effective case processing. This position involves assisting attorneys throughout the case lifecycle, from initial client contact to settlements, while maintaining compliance with legal standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Attorney in all phases of the case process including settlements, legal research, document filing, and client correspondence.
  • Open new files and maintain regular contact with clients.
  • Organize and maintain case files and caseload requirements.
  • Prepare files for submission to demand writers.
  • Conduct claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments.
  • Verify insurance coverage and liability matters, maintaining contact with insurance companies.
  • Monitor timelines and billing for case completion.
  • Draft legal documents and case summaries.
  • Review documents and medical records for compliance with legal requirements.
  • Gather relevant information from various sources, including Lexis and Westlaw research.
  • Assist with case settlements by negotiating with insurance providers.
  • Manage the client's medical care with medical providers.
  • Address client case status inquiries regarding process steps, processing times, and appointment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and expectations.

Requirements

  • Proven 2+ years working experience in the Workers Compensation field.
  • Proven 2+ years working experience as an insurance adjuster preferred.
  • Experience managing a heavy caseload.
  • Familiarity with federal and state procedures.
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology and terminology.
  • Working knowledge of case management software.
  • Consistent record of attendance, reliability, and integrity.
  • Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously; self-motivated.
  • Outstanding time-management and typing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while being highly focused and detail-oriented with exceptional analytical skills.
  • Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, appearance, and compliance with company dress code.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual is a plus.
