Responsibilities

  • Support lawyers in the preparation of legal documents including complaints, answers, discovery requests, and discovery responses.
  • Review and form medical records exhibits for cases.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients, adjusters, and other team members.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw and/or LEXIS.
  • Summarize complex medical records and deposition transcripts.
  • Schedule and communicate with experts retained to testify in cases.
  • Maintain organization and attention to detail in all aspects of case management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in workers' compensation or personal injury law.
  • Valid Paralegal Certificate or Degree.
  • Strong experience in legal research, including Westlaw and/or LEXIS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strict attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience in communication with Medicare/Medicaid and other lien holders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with the workers' compensation system.
