About the position

Join our team as a Workforce Career Coach in Denver, Colorado, where you will play a vital role in transforming lives and making a difference in the community. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about serving others and are willing to challenge themselves both personally and professionally. As a Workforce Career Coach, you will be the primary point of contact for participants, guiding them through their career development journey. You will meet regulatory requirements for eligibility, participation, and follow-up services, ensuring that each participant receives the support they need to succeed in their employment and educational pursuits. Your responsibilities will include recruiting participants for the program, seeking employment and educational opportunities, and conducting community activities that promote participant development. You will deliver skills training in software applications, work readiness skills, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. Additionally, you will develop your presentation and facilitation skills to engage students effectively in meeting program goals. Job development will be a key focus, as you connect with employers and community organizations to market the program and enhance the success of participants. Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards. Our programs aim to create career pathways for youth, adults, and dislocated workers, offering a range of training services including occupational skills training, customized training, and transitional employment opportunities. We are committed to establishing relationships with employers and developing industry partnerships to support our participants' success.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their support networks.
  • Meet regulatory requirements for eligibility, participation, case notes, and follow-up services.
  • Recruit participants for the program and seek employment and educational opportunities.
  • Conduct community activities related to participant development.
  • Deliver skills training in software applications, work readiness skills, and basic remedial skills in math and reading.
  • Develop presentation and facilitation skills to engage students in meeting program goals.
  • Connect with employers and community organizations to market the program and enhance participant success.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications or online database tracking systems.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen in compliance with Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
