About the position

The Workforce Career Coach - Youth position at Eckerd Connects is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people aged 16 to 24. This role serves as the primary point of contact for participants, guiding them through their career development journey. The Career Coach will be responsible for ensuring that participants meet regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation, while also maintaining detailed case notes and follow-up services that address their employment needs, retention, and termination processes. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and fulfilling the service needs of participants, which includes connecting them with employment and educational opportunities as they progress through the program. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Career Coach will engage in community activities that promote participant development. This includes delivering skills training in software applications, work readiness, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. The role also involves developing presentation and facilitation skills to effectively engage participants and help them meet program goals. A key aspect of the job is job development, which entails building relationships with training providers and community organizations to enhance the program's offerings and support the success of participants. Eckerd Connects is committed to providing comprehensive workforce development services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The organization focuses on creating career pathways for youth, adults, and dislocated workers through various training services, including occupational skills training and transitional employment opportunities. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants aged 16-24.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and follow-up services for participants.
  • Identify and fulfill service needs related to employment, retention, and termination.
  • Seek employment and educational opportunities for participants as they complete the program.
  • Conduct community activities that promote participant development.
  • Deliver skills training in software applications and work readiness skills.
  • Develop presentation and facilitation skills to engage participants.
  • Connect with training providers and community organizations for job development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and another language.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and online database tracking systems.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet Eckerd's Auto Insurance requirements.
