About the position

As a Youth Career Coach at Eckerd Connects, you will play a pivotal role in empowering young individuals to navigate their career paths and achieve their professional goals. This position is based in Lafayette and requires a passionate individual who is committed to making a difference in the lives of youth. You will be responsible for outreach and recruitment efforts, engaging with the community to identify and connect with potential participants. Your role will involve assessing the eligibility of participants according to project plans and maintaining detailed case records that document their service needs and the activities arranged to fulfill those needs. In addition to administrative tasks, you will deliver skills training in various areas, including software applications, work readiness skills, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. Developing your presentation and facilitation skills will be essential as you engage students in achieving program goals. You will also be responsible for delivering the program curriculum and objectives in both classroom and simulated workplace environments. Job development is another critical aspect of this role, where you will connect with employers and community organizations to market the program and enhance the success of participants. Identifying and recruiting the target population of clients and employers will be key to your success. You will also manage data and paperwork efficiently to ensure compliance with program management and funding sources.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach and recruitment through community activities related to participant development.

Requirements

  • Related Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • Past experience working with the targeted population.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • Must have appropriate and valid state driver's license and meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
