About the position

The Workforce Career Coach plays a crucial role in supporting participants in their career development journey. This position involves direct interaction with participants, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements, and providing guidance on employment and educational opportunities. The coach is responsible for delivering skills training, engaging with community organizations, and fostering relationships with employers to enhance program success.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their support networks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for eligibility, participation, and case management.
• Recruit participants for the program and seek employment and educational opportunities for them.
• Conduct community activities related to participant development.
• Deliver skills training in software applications, work readiness, and basic remedial skills.
• Develop presentation and facilitation skills to engage participants effectively.
• Connect with employers and community organizations to promote the program.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience, particularly with the targeted population.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and online database tracking systems.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to meet auto insurance requirements.
• Ability to pass a drug screening as per company policy.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in workforce development or career coaching.
• Familiarity with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services.
