About the position

As a Workforce Career Coach at Eckerd Connects, you will play a pivotal role in guiding participants through their career development journey. This position serves as the primary point of contact for participants, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation. You will be responsible for maintaining detailed case notes and follow-up services that outline the service needs and activities arranged for each participant, focusing on employment, retention, and termination processes. Your work will be guided by data-management procedures established by program management and funding sources, ensuring compliance and effectiveness in service delivery. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Career Coach will actively recruit participants for the program and seek out employment and educational opportunities as they progress. You will engage with the community by attending and conducting activities that promote participant development, while also identifying and recruiting a target population of clients and employers. This role requires a proactive approach to job development, where you will connect with employers and community organizations regularly to market the program and enhance the success of participants. A significant aspect of your role will involve delivering skills training in various areas, including software applications, work readiness skills, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. You will also develop your presentation and facilitation skills to effectively engage students and help them meet program goals. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of individuals seeking to improve their career prospects and achieve their professional aspirations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their support networks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and follow-up services for participants.
  • Recruit participants for the program and seek employment and educational opportunities.
  • Conduct community activities related to participant development.
  • Identify and recruit target populations of clients and employers.
  • Deliver skills training in software applications and work readiness skills.
  • Develop presentation and facilitation skills to engage students.
  • Connect with employers and community organizations to market the program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, particularly with the targeted population.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and online database tracking systems.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet auto insurance requirements.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen in compliance with workplace policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in workforce development or career coaching.
  • Familiarity with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services.
