About the position

As a Workforce Career Coach at Eckerd Connects, you will play a pivotal role in guiding participants through their career development journey. This position serves as the primary point of contact for participants, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation. You will be responsible for maintaining detailed case notes and follow-up services that address the employment needs of participants, including retention and termination processes. Your work will be guided by data-management procedures established by program management and funding sources, ensuring compliance and effectiveness in service delivery. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Career Coach will actively recruit participants for the program and seek out employment and educational opportunities as they progress. You will engage with the community by conducting activities that promote participant development and identifying potential clients and employers. A significant aspect of your role will involve delivering skills training in software applications, work readiness, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. You will also develop your presentation and facilitation skills to effectively engage students and help them meet program goals. Job development is another critical component of this position, requiring you to connect with employers and community organizations regularly. This will involve marketing the program and enhancing the success of participants through strategic partnerships and outreach efforts. Your ability to build relationships and networks with both large and small employers will be essential in creating opportunities for those you serve.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their support networks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, particularly with the targeted population.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and online database tracking systems.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet auto insurance requirements.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen in compliance with workplace policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in workforce development or career coaching.
  • Familiarity with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services.
