About the position

As a Workforce Career Coach at Eckerd Connects, you will play a pivotal role in guiding participants through their career development journey. This position is centered around building relationships with participants and their support networks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation. You will be responsible for maintaining detailed case notes and follow-up services that address the employment needs of participants, including retention and termination processes. Your role will also involve actively recruiting participants for the program and seeking out employment and educational opportunities as they progress through their training. In addition to participant engagement, you will conduct community activities aimed at participant development and outreach. This includes delivering skills training in essential software applications, work readiness skills, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. You will also develop your presentation and facilitation skills to effectively engage students and help them meet program goals. A key aspect of your role will be job development, which involves connecting with employers and community organizations to market the program and enhance the success of participants. Eckerd Connects is committed to providing comprehensive workforce services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Our programs are designed to create career pathways for youth, adults, and dislocated workers through various training services, including occupational skills training and transitional employment opportunities. You will be part of a team that establishes and nurtures relationships with employers and industry partners to facilitate successful outcomes for our participants.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their support networks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and follow-up services regarding employment needs.
  • Recruit participants for the program and seek employment and educational opportunities.
  • Conduct community activities related to participant development.
  • Deliver skills training in software applications and work readiness skills.
  • Develop presentation and facilitation skills to engage students.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • Past experience working with the targeted population.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications or online database tracking systems.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet auto insurance requirements.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen in compliance with workplace policies.
