About the position

The Career Coach at Eckerd Connects serves as the primary point of contact for participants in workforce programs, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements for eligibility, participation, and follow-up services. This role involves detailed documentation of service needs and activities related to employment, retention, and termination, adhering to data-management procedures established by program management and funding sources. The Career Coach is responsible for recruiting participants for the program and seeking employment and educational opportunities as they progress. This includes conducting community activities that promote participant development and identifying potential clients and employers to enhance program success. In addition to recruitment, the Career Coach delivers skills training in software applications, work readiness, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. They are expected to develop strong presentation and facilitation skills to effectively engage students and help them meet program goals. Job development is a key aspect of this role, requiring frequent connections with employers and community organizations to market the program and support participant success. The Career Coach must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates holding a related bachelor's degree. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and online database tracking systems. A valid state driver's license is also necessary for business-related driving.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications or online database tracking systems.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet auto insurance requirements.
