About the position

The Career Coach serves as the primary point of contact for participants in the workforce development program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for eligibility, participation, and follow-up services. This role involves detailed documentation of service needs and activities related to employment, retention, and termination, adhering to data-management procedures set by program management and funding sources. The Career Coach is responsible for recruiting participants into the program and actively seeking employment and educational opportunities for them as they progress through the program. This includes conducting community activities that promote participant development and identifying potential clients and employers to enhance program outreach. In addition to recruitment, the Career Coach will deliver skills training in various areas, including software applications, work readiness skills, and basic remedial skills in math and reading. Developing presentation and facilitation skills is essential to engage students effectively and help them meet program goals. The role also involves job development, which includes frequent connections with employers and community organizations to market the program and support the success of participants. The Career Coach plays a vital role in creating a supportive environment that fosters personal and professional growth for individuals seeking to improve their career prospects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their support networks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Related Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
• Past experience working with the targeted population.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications or online database tracking systems.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to meet auto insurance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in workforce development or career coaching.
• Familiarity with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services.
