About the position

The Workforce Career Coach plays a crucial role in supporting participants in their career development journey. This position involves direct interaction with participants, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements, and providing guidance on employment and educational opportunities. The Career Coach is responsible for delivering skills training, developing community connections, and facilitating participant engagement to achieve program goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their support networks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for eligibility and participation.
• Maintain detailed case notes and follow-up services regarding employment and retention.
• Recruit participants for the program and seek employment opportunities for them.
• Conduct community activities related to participant development.
• Deliver skills training in software applications and work readiness skills.
• Develop presentation and facilitation skills to engage participants effectively.
• Connect with employers and community organizations to market the program.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Related Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience working with the targeted population.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and online database tracking systems.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to meet auto insurance requirements.
• Ability to pass a drug screen in compliance with workplace policies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in workforce development or career coaching.
• Familiarity with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services.
