About the position

As a Workforce Data Attorney in the Human Resources Law Practice Group at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in advising on the firm's human capital strategies and improving the Human Resources function globally. This position involves assessing risks associated with data collection, systems, and storage, while partnering with various stakeholders to enhance the employee experience. You will navigate a rapidly evolving legal and technology landscape, focusing on data-related legal challenges and compliance with global regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Human Resources to assess risk, develop strategy, and provide legal advice.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Product Lines to understand business cases and anticipate risks.
  • Monitor changes in global legislation and regulatory guidelines concerning data and emerging technologies.
  • Craft solutions in collaboration with internal colleagues and clients across HR Products.
  • Provide strategic advice on data-related risks and challenges faced by the firm.
  • Advise on the creation and management of data retention schedules and data protection measures.
  • Instruct and manage outside counsel for regulatory inquiries and litigation matters.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law or to be licensed immediately in jurisdiction.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Experience in global data and privacy legal framework, AI/ML, and employment law.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, European Union AI Act, and HIPAA.
  • Ability to understand business issues and formulate workable solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Strong communication and writing skills to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.

  • Prior counseling experience through a digital transformation.
