About the position

The Workforce Development & Apprenticeship Project Coordinator at Dallas College plays a crucial role in supporting the logistics and implementation of workforce development initiatives and job pipeline opportunities. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations related to apprenticeship implementation and other solutions-oriented activities. The coordinator will plan and maintain work systems, ensuring adherence to processes and policies that facilitate the achievement of project objectives. This includes monitoring course files to ensure complete data management in areas such as class rolls, student evaluations, course numbers, student registration functions, and apprenticeship data. The role requires sound judgment in preparing highly confidential correspondence, reports, and presentations related to students, trainees, apprentices, and training providers. The coordinator will also analyze data to determine the status of timelines and performance goals, assisting with grant-funded project activities, including tracking and reporting data related to trainees and apprentices. They will set goals and motivate team members to accomplish workforce development and apprenticeship targets, delegating tasks as necessary to support successful project completion. The position involves working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and improve initiatives for complex business projects that involve local, state, and federal grants and apprenticeship initiatives. The coordinator must maintain a large, detailed database and utilize technology to meet scheduled deadlines while effectively managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. In addition to these responsibilities, the coordinator will be expected to communicate appropriately with upper management regarding key initiatives and progress updates on various projects. The role requires a commitment to delivering timely results and a strong ability to analyze problem situations, identify feasible solutions, and present recommendations in a concise manner. The coordinator will also be responsible for completing required professional development training hours each academic year and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the process and monitor course files to ensure complete data in areas such as class rolls, student evaluations, and apprenticeship data.
  • Analyze data to determine the status of timelines and performance goals for successful project completion.
  • Assist with grant-funded project activities, including tracking and reporting data related to trainees and apprentices.
  • Set goals and motivate team members to accomplish workforce development and apprenticeship targets, delegating tasks as needed.
  • Effectively manage team dynamics to ensure a positive work environment and achieve departmental goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external groups to develop and improve multiparty initiatives for complex business projects.
  • Communicate with upper management regarding key initiatives and progress updates on various projects.
  • Maintain a large, detailed database and use technology to assist within scheduled deadlines.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (preferred) or High School Diploma with two (2) years' experience in workforce development and/or apprenticeship projects (required).
  • Two (2) years collecting and managing large amounts of workforce development and/or apprenticeship data for complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with corporate, employer partners, workforce development and industry apprenticeship (required).
  • Two (2) years extensive experience with internal systems such as Workday, Datatel/Colleague-screens and/or Marketplace (or similar system experience elsewhere).
  • Experience with accounts payable, purchasing and/or invoicing in workforce development and/or apprenticeship projects (preferred).
  • Ability to embrace, understand and implement the purpose and vision of the College.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
  • Experience with local, state, and/or federal grant agencies and tracking/reporting systems such as RAPIDS and Appian Cloud based platforms.
