We serve customers and projects spread across the western, piedmont, and metrolina regions of North Carolina, and the upstate of South Carolina. Over the course of our 75-year history, we have built our reputation as a company focused on the training, development, and personal growth of our workforce, and we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Workforce Development Director. Candidates should have a passion for teaching and mentoring others and must also be a fit for a company culture based upon core values of honesty and integrity, mutual respect, pursuit of excellence, and personal accountability.
Responsibilities
- Create/develop/coordinate training curriculum and schedule
- Train subject-matter experts and other instructors on effective teaching methods
- Monitor and improve the effectiveness of training programs
- Create, track, and maintain training records
- Recruit and train new trainers/instructors
- Remain current in new training methods and techniques
- Select and source training materials, curricula, and resources
- Develop a mentorship program and train mentors on effective mentoring techniques
- Classroom instruction, including acting as lead instructor in non-technical areas such as leadership and professional development
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources, workforce development, education, educational administration, mentoring, or similar fields
- Experience as a trainer or subject matter expert in the electrical and/or general construction fields is preferred
