About the position

The Workforce Development Manager at Surge Staffing is responsible for driving business growth by identifying and securing new revenue opportunities within a designated geographic area. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, collaborating with field management, and achieving profit results in alignment with company forecasts. The position emphasizes building long-term partnerships with clients and ensuring successful placements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop account sales plans/approaches with Manager on a minimum of 30 target accounts.
  • Identify prospects and develop sales strategies to secure new business, including sales calls and competitive analysis.
  • Conduct prospect, active and inactive account sales calls independently and jointly with branch office staff.
  • Function as the lead sales resource on identified target accounts and create account plans.
  • Partner with branch office and Headquarters staff to enhance product knowledge needed to close sales.
  • Support driving sales closure to shorten sales cycles and meet sales goals.
  • Analyze prospect requirements to understand how company products can meet their needs.
  • Establish contacts in the business community and participate in local networking events.
  • Record all business and sales activity in the company database and complete required activity reports.
  • Respond quickly to all customer and prospect inquiries.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish and English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous business development experience.
  • At least 3 years of proven outside direct sales experience, including developing sales strategies and conducting cold calls.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic math skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency in sales and service activities.
  • Strong leadership skills and creativity in identifying successful techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the surrounding area.
