About the position

The Workforce Development Manager at Paul's Place is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Groundwork Kitchen training program, focusing on student recruitment, job placement, and partnership management. This role emphasizes equity and aims to create employment pipelines in the food service industry, ensuring quality job placements for graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the training program to potential applicants and referral partner agencies to meet enrollment goals.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of outreach activities and communication with referral partners.
  • Engage referral partner agencies to build a robust pipeline of potential students.
  • Present program information and application instructions to referral partners and prospective students.
  • Assist applicants lacking digital access with the application process.
  • Collaborate with Training and Student Support teams to ensure student enrollment aligns with program goals.
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for existing and potential employer partners.
  • Build and maintain employer relationships to increase job placement opportunities for students.
  • Communicate with the Student Support team regarding student and alumni access to services.
  • Use a strengths-based approach to collaborate with students on career paths and goals.
  • Identify promising job opportunities for graduates to enhance economic opportunity.
  • Assist students and alumni with job placement through coaching and job search strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of experience coaching or training adults in food service, hospitality, or related fields.
  • Experience in the food service industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing housing instability or food insecurity.

  • Strong understanding of diverse career pathways in food service.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Experience with coaching and training food service employees.
  • Ability to relate to students by sharing lived experiences overcoming barriers to employment.
