About the position

The Workforce Development Manager (WDM) is responsible for overseeing a comprehensive training program for approximately 60,000 homecare workers in Massachusetts. This role involves managing staff, coordinating training sessions, and ensuring effective communication and support for members. The WDM acts as a liaison with various stakeholders to develop and implement training opportunities, while also evaluating and improving educational programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage staff to deliver exceptional communication and support to members, ensuring a high-quality member services program.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure needs are met and programs are designed for high completion rates.
  • Organize and coordinate training classes, including hiring and training facilitators.
  • Act as the primary liaison with key stakeholders to identify and implement training opportunities.
  • Provide lead support for complex issues and design new programs based on stakeholder input.
  • Evaluate programs and conduct continuous improvement of education programs.
  • Manage a high-volume call center for registering homecare workers for classes.
  • Oversee administrative processes for accurate data collection and entry; analyze data and develop reports.
  • Assist in budget creation and management, including vendor payments and proposal reviews.
  • Problem-solve member issues and present innovative solutions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Organizational Development, Education, Health or relevant fields; or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in training, consulting, or workforce development.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing programs.
  • Working knowledge in joint labor management/education settings.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
