About the position

The Program Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the Health Scholar program at a hospital or ambulatory care center. This position serves as a key link between program participants, the internal team, and the client, ensuring smooth program operations and a positive experience for Scholars. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including recruitment, mentorship, and relationship management with hospital executives, making it ideal for individuals interested in healthcare delivery and program administration.

Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit and maintain a strong pipeline of diverse Health Scholar candidates by attending recruitment events and engaging with campus career centers and student organizations.
  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to program participants, typically managing 50-200 individuals.
  • Manage and improve on-site program operations, including training, recruitment activities, and professional development workshops.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key hospital client executives to ensure program success and growth.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on program metrics to report service line impact and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan for future client growth by identifying opportunities for additional participant rotations with client executives.
  • Engage with team members to pursue opportunities that add value to clients through various services offered by the firm.
  • Support business development activities, including market research and contributing to promotional materials.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to program operations, including compliance and policy violations.
  • Model professionalism and conflict-resolution skills for program participants.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2+ years of work experience preferred.
  • Passion for student teaching, mentoring, and development.
  • Strong project and people management skills, with experience managing large groups preferred.
  • Recruitment experience and comfort with networking are required.
  • Interest in healthcare is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently at the client site as the sole Program Manager.
  • Availability for regional trainings during evenings and weekends (1-2 weekends per month).
  • Ability to travel occasionally to the corporate office in downtown Los Angeles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
