About the position

The Workforce Development Representative serves as a Case Manager for the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) and Diversionary Work Program (DWP) customers. This role focuses on assessing client needs and providing personalized support to help them secure sustainable employment. Responsibilities include creating individualized Employment Plans, conducting regular check-ins, and offering ongoing assistance to ensure clients maintain stable employment. The position is based in Winona, MN, with eligibility for telework after a training period.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of MFIP/DWP clients to enable them to secure sustainable employment.
• Create individualized Employment Plans outlining clients' strengths, goals, skill gaps, and required services.
• Conduct regular check-ins with MFIP/DWP customers to provide comprehensive case management services.
• Deliver ongoing assistance to employed MFIP/DWP clients to help them maintain stable employment.
• Collaborate with community partners to assist career seekers in gaining employment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or related field, or one year of experience in career guidance, vocational counseling, or job placement services.
• Experience in customer service with the ability to relate to individuals at all levels with patience and understanding.
• Skill in Microsoft Office Suite and data management software.
• Ability to form connections with community partners.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or closely related field.
• Knowledge of Minnesota's workforce programs and experience with public workforce development agencies.
• Skill in effective communication and human relations to build rapport with clients.
• Ability to communicate in a second language.
