About the position

The Workforce Development Specialist (Corporate Trainer) at Colorado Springs Utilities is responsible for coordinating and delivering enterprise-wide learning curricula to employees. This role involves managing learning projects from inception to completion, including communication, coordination with instructional design, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of training programs. The specialist will utilize various training methods and tools to enhance adult learning and assess the effectiveness of training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver enterprise-wide learning curricula to employees.
  • Manage learning projects from beginning to end, including communication and coordination with instructional design.
  • Deliver training using various methods such as classroom, e-learning, virtual, and blended learning.
  • Facilitate team-building courses and active training techniques like role-playing and simulations.
  • Assess the needs of internal customers and differentiate performance issues from learning needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning through assessments and performance metrics.
  • Provide feedback to learners and internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement changes to learning programs as necessary.

Requirements

  • Relevant training/facilitation experience, preferably in a corporate learning environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Leadership/Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification is valued.
  • Knowledge of learning design, improving human performance, and delivering training.
  • Experience with adult learning theories and needs analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
